Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the chosen marinade. Adjust the saltiness or sweetness as needed.
- Marinate the chicken: Place the pieces in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Pour in the marinade so every piece is covered fully. Seal it up or cover it. Then put it in the fridge for at least half an hour. For best flavor, marinate for four hours or overnight.
- Cooking the chicken: Choose your method, like grill, bake, or pan sear.
- Grilling: Preheat the grill to medium-high. Grill each side for about six to eight minutes until it's fully cooked inside.
- Baking: Preheat oven to four hundred degrees Fahrenheit. Put marinated pieces on a baking sheet with some parchment paper or foil underneath and bake them twenty to twenty-five minutes, depending on thickness.
- Pan Searing: Heat one tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat, then cook them for five to seven minutes on each side till done.
- Serve with sides like rice salad, roasted veggies, or whatever you would like.
Tips and Variations:
- Marinating Time: Even just thirty minutes gives some flavor, but letting them soak several hours or overnight is best. Don’t go over twenty-four hours though, or it will get mushy from too much acid.
- Cutting Chicken: For faster cooking, cut smaller pieces; good when grilling or pan searing.
- Mix and Match: Feel free to mix different ingredients like honey into BBQ mix or switch lime instead of lemon in herb mix.
- Spicy Option: If you love heat, then add extra chili flakes, hot sauce, and cayenne pepper.
- Vegetarian Option: Works great on tofu tempeh veggies too; just adjust time so flavors soak.
- Storage and Leftovers: Keep leftover cooked ones in an airtight container in the fridge for three days tops or freeze before cooking for up to three months.
